The
Monks Blessing with Island tour: Highlight of this
package is the blessing by 9 monks at Wat Chalong, Phuket’s
most famous and beautiful temple. Within a 2-3 hour island
tour, which takes you to some of the finest beaches and
view-points of Phuket, we will go to Wat Chalong, where you
will be blessed by nine monks. This is a Buddhist ceremony,
and even if you are not a Buddhist, is absolutely suitable
and impressive.
According to local beliefs, this blessing will bring your
relationship good luck & harmony. There are plenty of photo
opportunities in the temple area after the blessing. This is
the option for those who are either married already or the
ones who care for a ceremony without the typical: “[Groom],
will you take [Bride] to be your wife? “

The
Grand Thai Wedding is an amazing spectacle of colors,
sounds, and rituals, reflecting the rich Thai culture. A
holy ceremony that has evolved over hundreds of years. The
wedding can be organized at any place you wish but certain
surroundings are more appropriate then others. Before the
actual ceremony are various options to choose from such as a
temple tour, an elephant ride, or an island cruise.

The
ceremony historically begins with the groom leading the
“Long Drum Parade” with around 30 dancers and musicians
across the premises. The groom will perform several
traditional rituals before meeting the bride. She will be
dressed in traditional Thai dress and wait for him in a
secret place. Once the two meet they will receive the monks
blessing.
After the blessing, the two will move to the beautifully
decorated ‘Altar’, where they kneel together, and a holy
string is draped from one persons head to the other, forming
a circle and connecting the couple. After this ritual all
guest will pour holy water over the couple’s hands for good
luck. After that will be the signing of the wedding
certificate. The final ritual will be the planting of a
‘Love Tree’.
